What is BookDak, and how is it different from WhatsApp auto-reply?
+
BookDak is a Cantonese AI receptionist, not a rigid keyword auto-reply. It understands questions however customers phrase them, quotes prices, checks availability and books straight into your system, then hands sensitive chats to a human with a summary.
Does the AI really sound like a Hong Kong person?
+
Every deployment is tested against real Hong Kong customer phrasing, including code-switching, slang and typos. Before launch there's a week of shadow mode: you see and approve every reply, and we go live only when you're satisfied.
Will the AI make up prices or time slots?
+
No. Prices, promotions and slots come only from structured data the AI can read but not invent. If the data doesn't have it, the AI says so and hands over to staff.
What about skin or treatment questions?
+
The AI never answers medical or treatment questions (e.g. eczema, sensitivity, post-treatment reactions). It escalates to your professionals immediately, with high priority, and tells the customer when to expect a reply.
Can it connect to our booking system?
+
Yes. We connect to your current booking software, Google Calendar or Google Sheets. Still on paper? We can move you to a simple online calendar.
What if a customer wants a real person?
+
They can type 轉真人 at any time. The AI stops and passes the chat, reason and suggestion to your staff, who continue in the same inbox.
How long does setup take?
+
Core usually goes live in four weeks: audit, discovery, build, shadow mode, launch. Starter is faster.
WhatsApp started charging from 1 October. How does that affect me?
+
Meta now charges for service messages, so poorly designed flows cost more. We design flows that use fewer messages and the right template categories, and we'll check your impact for free.
Is customer data safe? Is it used to train AI?
+
Customer data is used only to handle bookings and never to train AI. We design to Hong Kong's Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO), sign a data processing agreement with every client and keep full conversation records.
Which channels are supported besides WhatsApp?
+
WhatsApp Business Platform is the core, with Instagram DM as an add-on. One AI, one rulebook, both channels.
Does it speak English and Mandarin?
+
Yes. Cantonese by default; if a customer writes in English or Mandarin, the AI replies in kind, ideal for aesthetic clinics serving visitors.
Which businesses is it for?
+
Appointment-based businesses: medical aesthetics, beauty centres, dental, physiotherapy, Chinese medicine, vet clinics, and hair, nail and lash studios.
How much does it cost? Is there a contract?
+
From HK$2,500/month (Starter), HK$5,000 (Core) and HK$8,000 (Growth), plus a one-off setup fee. Retainers have a 12-month minimum, then 30 days' notice. The lost-revenue audit is always free.
Can I use a government subsidy?
+
The government plans an enhanced Digital Transformation Support Pilot Programme covering AI solutions. We'll prepare an eligible package as soon as it opens. Register your interest now.
